Questions & Answers

FAQ About Primary Care

How Does a Primary Care Naturopathic Physician Differ from other Primary Care Providers?
A conventional primary care physician most only the symptoms, while a primary care naturopath in Seattle treats a patient with the 'Whole Person' approach. They consider the mental and emotional state, evaluate for causes of the bodily issues, in order to emphasize preventive care and lasting wellness, not just treating the disease.
Can a Naturopathic Doctor Prescribe Medicine Like other types of Primary Care Physicians in Seattle?
Yes. In Washington State, licensed Naturopathic Doctors have prescriptive authority and can prescribe medications, order labs, and perform many of the same functions as a conventional primary care physician — while also incorporating natural therapies, botanical medicine, and lifestyle medicine into their practice for a truly integrative approach.
Can I visit the Naturopathic Clinic for Chronic Illness?
Absolutely. Iris Center for Healing specializes in complex and chronic illness — including Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, mold toxin illness, digestive conditions, and more. Dr. Hartz works with patients whose conditions have been difficult to diagnose or treat through conventional care, providing thorough investigation and personalized protocols designed to address root causes and restore lasting health.

Do You Treat Mold Illness at Iris Center for Healing?
Yes. Mold toxin illness and environmental illness are core specialties at Iris Center for Healing. Dr. Hartz offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment protocols for mycotoxin illness, including environmental detox, IV therapy for mold, allergy medicine at a molecular level, and regulation therapy.
